How To Win & Be The Best At Ka-Blab?

It’s quite straightforward on how to win, everyone starts off with 3 lives (Exploding Tokens). If the “Ka-Blab Bomb Timer” goes off before you can pass off the dice to the next player, then you lose a life. If you lose all 3 then your out of the game, and if your the last one left with any lives, then you’re the winner!

Be quick with your dice rolls and your answers to best lower your time. You will forget, but think of some answers for your topic as the other players are taking, their turn. If you do those two very simple things, it will give you a really good chance at winning. Most importantly have some fun!

Should you buy Ka-Blab By Hasbro Gaming?

I have a category on here for games that i think should permanently have a space in your “Game Pack”. This is one of those games for me. If you look closely at the pictures for the Ka-Blab box, it has a lot of wear and tear. The reason for that is cause my family, friends, and I have played this game a ton.

I think it’s a perfect game to bring along for almost any situation you might find yourself in. If you’re trying to have a fun time with people who aren’t exactly “game people”, then this is a game for you. If you don’t like to teach people how to play a game, or are with people who listen on “mute” when someone is explaining the rules to a game. Then this is a great game for you.

Its put in my category of a “Game Pack” game because of how easily it inserts itself into all different situations.

Like i mentioned before the box has a lot of wear because of all the times we whip this game out. After all the times we’ve played Ka-Blab we still have a great time with the game, and end up playing 2-3 full games before looking to play something else. 

It’s great for young kids and gets them really thinking outside of the box, trying to think of things in their topics. I’ve played with my boy when he was 7 and my daughter when she was 11 and they both had a great time with the game.

All The Pieces That Come In The Box

There is not much to the game besides a cool bomb timer, topic cards, dice, and explosion tokens (Lives). That makes for a pretty easy time when it comes to clean up and setup time. Very easy to quickly pull out of the box and play. Of all the games that I’ve played, the batteries in the Ka-Blab timer have yet to run out. Obviously, the box is starting to wear down. The outside of the box doesn’t bother me as much as the inside does. The place where the topic cards sit has started to loosen and now falls in the box innards, which can make for a tedious time to retrieve them.

Do The Ka-Blab Topic Cards Have Variety And Are Interesting?

I think that the topic cards for Ka-blab are much better than most topic cards in other games out there. I first thought that with 250 topic cards that it would eventually get too random and obscure in topics, but i was surprised it didn’t. The only cards that i would say anything about are the topic cards that are just tough to raddle off a bunch of answers to like names of birds or names of different flowers. Thats probably just personally complaint but it’s hard to name 7 different types of flowers. 

How A Round Of Ka-blab Goes? How To Take Your Turn Properly?

The round starts off by everyone being ready. Then someone quickly starts the Ka-Blab bomb timer. Person who starts off with the yellow dices quickly flips their topic card and then immediately after rolls the dice.

For Example

We’ll say they rolled a blank die, a 2 die, and a 1 die. The blank die counts as zero, but the 1 and 2 dies are added up to be the number of answers you must give for the topic card you flipped up. Whatever the topic may be, just give 3 answers and then you quickly pass off the yellow dice. If the bomb buzzer were to go off before or during the passing of the dice, then you lose a life. If you make the pass off in time you’re free till the next time the dice, comes back around. 

Thats the turn, you’ll stay on the same topic till the bomb timer finally buzzes and then you’ll start your next turn with new topic card for that round. You must be quick with the hands if you’re hoping to beat that buzzer. It will make you feel like your in a hurry or a panic but its the fun kind of hot potato vibe that puts everyone on edge.

Sometimes during play, the timer might go off with someone still in the process of passing off the dice, or just let go of the dice, or even maybe someone gave a topic answer that seems a little too far out of the box.

To that i suggest that all the players come to an agreement before, after, or during the game. As a kind of “House Rules” and play the way that makes it the best time for everybody. You might have to just say “heck with it” and start the round over to help keep the game fun. It happens, don’t worry. 

How difficult is Ka-Blab to learn, teach, and play?

Ka-blab is super easy to learn, pretty much all you have to do is look at the back of the box and you already know how to play. Teaching is just as easy, they have that it’s for 10 and up, but my family made it work pretty easily with my 7-year-old. Pretty much as long as your kiddo can read, that is when i think they are ready to play. When it comes to playing it really just depends on the person and how well their brain can ramble through different topics and ideas. My mother and father, didn’t have any trouble learning and playing. My dad does have a trouble with his grabbing things with his hands. That did slow him down with flipping cards and rolling the dice. He still played a good game, and had fun with all of us.

There’s plenty of different people out there. From what i can tell Ka-Blab is a overall simple and fun game to get into.

Ka-Blab Box Setup

As always i appreciate a nice and organized box setup. Obviously, with the low about of pieces it’s really easy to place everything into a small box. So, it’s no surprise that Ka-Blab has a nice and simple box setup that a toddler could put back together. Its a simple thing to do but always appreciated by me.

What I Would Like To See Added To Ka-Blab?

There’s really not much to add when it comes to this game, without completely making a brand-new game. Obviously, new topic cards could be a nice addition to the game. Even could mess around with more possibilities of different dice symbols and effects of dice rolls. Not sure what exactly that would be but its just a thought.
